Sovereign Grace Running Cross Country and Track Team

A homeschool cross country and track team located in the Greater Nashville area.

Cross Country

The cross country team is open to any homeschooled student in 5th to 12th grade. Our middle school team is for 5th-8th graders, and our high school team is comprised of 8th-12th graders.

In May/June we start optional XC pre-season practices (with a voluntary summer running challenge), and official team practices begin late July. Cross country meets begin in late August and go through mid-October.

Track

We have a high school track team (8th to 12th graders) and compete in the distance events: 400m, 800m, 1600m, 3200m, 4x400 relay, and 4x800 relay.

Optional pre-season practices begin in January with official practices usually starting in mid February. Our track racing season is typically March-April.

Mission Statement

Developing quality runners is not the end goal. Running is simply a tool to develop character. Being on the Sovereign Grace Running team is a great way to grow in discipline, perseverance, and commitment.

The practices are hard. The races are even harder. The coaches will ask you to push harder than you think possible. But never forget the true goal. Physical running can play a small role in equipping you to finish the true race in life – "testifying to the good news of God's grace" (Acts 20:24).

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”

- Acts 20:24
